In Memory of Tupac

It is hard to believe for many older fans of GBPosters.com that it was way back in 1996 when American Hip-Hop star Tupac Shakur was fatally shot four times on the Las Vegas strip.

Tupac was shot after leaving a Tyson-Seldon boxing match over 15 years ago but his influence is still with us.

In 2005 Rolling Stone magazine votet Tupac was named No.6 of the ‘100 immortal artists of all time’ behind the likes of Elvis Presley and John Lennon and he has been ranked as No. 3 on VH1’s 50 Greatest Hip Hop Artist. One of his legacies is the album All Eyez on Me, which is one of the highest-selling rap albums of all time.

Nas, Snoop Dogg, Ja Rule and many other rap artists all refer to Tupac as part of their musical influences. This seems an appropriate day to end on a quote from the man himself.

“I know it seems hard sometimes but remember one thing. Through every dark night, there’s a bright day after that. So no matter how hard it get, stick your chest out, keep ya head up…. and handle it.”
