In today’s news, Kasabian have been added to the line-up for Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend taking part on the 23rd June.

Joining will.i.am, Leona Lewis and newcomer to the charts Lana Del Ray, Kasabian will be back to the UK after a US tour lasting nearly 2 months and will play Hackney before hitting the road again.

Kasabian are best known for their tracks Fire, Clubfoot, and Underdog.
Kasabian – the finest thing to come out of Leicester since Gary Lineker and Walkers Crisps have been added to the lineup of the BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekend festival.

Born out of a mutual love of Leicester City and Oasis, the band were formed in 1997 by best friends Tom Meighan and Serge Pizzorno. The name Kasabian was adopted after the band (quite disturbingly) did some research on Linda Kasabian who was a member of the Charles Manson family.

With instantly recognisable singles such as Empire, Fire and the epic, soul-stirring LSF Kasabian have gained a worldwide reputation as one of the greatest live acts on the planet and are sure to bring stacks of Rock N Roll swagger to the fields of Hackney Marshes in June.
