Scarface is a 1983 crime drama film directed by Brian DePalma. The film charts the life of Tony Montana - a political refugee from Cuba and his rise to the top of Miami's cocaine empire during the drug's boom of the 1980s. Montana played by Al Pacino arrives in Miami during the Mariel boatlift and soon befriends Frank Lopez a local drugload, when their relationship breaks down after a failed assasination attempt Montana takes over Frank's empire after having him killed. The film has gathered a huge worldwide following due to its popularity and is universally accepted as a cult classic. The 2 tone black and white poster featuring Al Pacino has become a cornerstone of cinematic art and has been parodied many times.
