Sailor Moon is the highly popular shojo manga series illustrated and written by Naoko Takeuchi. The series follows the antics of student Usagi Tsukino, who is given a magical brooch by Luna, a talking cat. This enables Usagi to become Sailor Moon, who is destined to save earth from evil forces. The entire series has sold over 35 million copies worldwide, making of it one of the highest selling shōjo manga series ever.
