The internet went into meltdown last week as the BBC unveiled who was to take over the baton as the fourteenth iconic Time Lord – Doctor Who.
Jodie Whittaker has held the role since 2017 and will now be superseded by Ncuti Gatwa – meaning that the doctor will be portrayed by a black actor for the first time in history. Ncuti has become a household name in his own right in recent years – and is most widely known for her role as Eric Effiong in Netflix’s hugely popular Sex Education as well as starring in Stonemouth & Horrible Histories: The Movie.
The response to Gatwa’s appointment has been one of overwhelming approval with experts citing it as a positive move.
We are incredibly excited that this amazing actor is set to play the role of the Doctor – Go Ncuti!
